Shared by all Americans for the protection of wildlife, the refuges of Portland-Vancouver also offer people the opportunity to connect with the beauty and wonder of nature in the Pacific Northwest at festivals and family-friendly educational programs throughout the year.

Your Portland-Vancouver National Wildlife Refuges can be found no matter which direction you head from the cities. To the north, you'll find Ridgefield NWR in Ridgefield, WA. To the east is Steigerwald Lake NWR in Washougal, WA. To the south is Tualatin River NWR in Sherwood, OR. And to the west is our newest refuge, Wapato Lake NWR in Gaston, OR, which is currently closed to public access (but not to wildlife).
