Nestled between King City, Tualatin and Tigard to the north and Sherwood to the south, Tualatin River NWR is one of the National Wildlife Refuge System's original Urban Refuges, where you can experience wildlife in their natural habitat close to home. In addition to restoring and maintaining healthy habitats for birds, mammals, fish and many other creatures, the Refuge has long been a place for people to enjoy the beauty and wonder of nature in the Pacific Northwest.

WHAT MAKES THIS A GREAT CHOICE FOR FAMILIES

  • Plenty of parking with adjacent bathrooms
  • A Visitor Center with exhibits and a nature store open Tuesday-Sunday, 10am-4pm.
  • Easy to walk and roll gravel trails
  • The one-mile River Trail open all year, with lots of benches and interpretive displays
  • Environmental programs that appeal to a wide age range throughout the year

Check out all of the visitor activities. You'll find the latest wildlife sightings and upcoming events on Facebook.
