The Beaver River Trestle construction started in 1931 but the depression stopped completion of it. In 1951 with the construction of CFB Cold Lake construction was completed,. It was burned in the 1970s and repaired. After the Iron Horse Trail openned in 2003 it became a main feature of the trail standing 104' above the Beaver River.

In 2012 a car was lit on fire beneath it and the north end was damaged. It was stabilized in 2013 then the north area was rebuilt and new fencing was added in 2015.
