Taylorsville MetroPark is an area of transportation history surrounded by natural beauty. For fifty years National Road was the busiest roadway in the country. With the construction of the Taylorsville Dam the road was rerouted to bring travelers across the top of the dam. Always a means for east/west travel the road was heavily used through the 1950s Golden Age of Automobiling. The paved areas now used for walking and picnicking in West Park were once overnight car camping spots. Today explore the park on foot, hiking the trails or sledding in the winter.

The White Trail is a short, easy hike through a mature forest offers wildlife viewing and seasonal wildflower blooms.
