Miami Valley Conservancy District and Five Rivers MetroParks teamed up to create the wetland seen from this short nature trail. Steps constructed around the perimeter retains the water from natural springs. The damp soil is ideal for wetland plants like sedges and rushes, blooms of blazing star, milkweed, and bergamot. Spring through fall you can witness the activity of butterflies, dragonflies and the seepage dancer damselflies, an Ohio endangered damselfly. What you may not see is the work of the wetland as it filters pollutants, controls flooding and creates habitat.
