This segment of the San Gabriel River Trail runs parallel to the 605. The multi-use trail follows the channelized river basin of the San Gabriel River and creates an excellent connection to the San Gabriel River Trail situated along the eastern bank. Dense riparian vegetation in the San Gabriel River is home to a variety of birds and animals such as coyotes, turkey vultures, rabbits, and mallards.

From the 605, take Rooks Rd. Stay on Rooks Rd. and turn right into Horseman’s Park staging area located just after Pacific Park Dr. Trail users can access the trail from the staging area by going northeast along an access ramp that leads up onto the levee trail.
