The Rio Hondo River Trail’s Walnut Grove Avenue Connector Trail is a short path that provides access to the Rio Hondo River Trail near the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area. 

The multi-use trail runs parallel to the Whittier Narrows Golf course and alongside the Alhambra Wash from Walnut Grove Avenue, just south of Rush Street. The trail connects to the Rio Hondo River Trail alongside the river where the Alhambra Wash and the Rio Hondo River meet.

To access the trailhead in Rosemead, head south on Walnut Grove Avenue from the I-10. The trail is just past the Alhambra Wash on the east side of Walnut Grove Avenue.
