Pololū Trail is a section of the Old Government Road to ʻĀwini. It begins at the end of the paved road and goes down the face of the cliff (420') to just behind the shoreline. The trail is steep and can be slippery. Note historic cobble stones still embedded in sections of the trail.

Take Highway 270 to the end at Pololū Lookout in North Kohala.

The marked features are managed for public recreational use. Other trails or roads that branch off from the public features may be on private property, and are not managed for any public recreational use. Nā Ala Hele is currently in the process of engaging with the communities and lineal descendants connected to Pololū and to develop a plan to best manage the lookout, parking area, and trail incorporating their valuable input.
