0.5 mile multi-use trail on natural surface, including some old quarry and military roads and new singletrack trail. The Battery Trail crosses a protected private open space property and the trail easement is managed by the National Park Service's Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) staff.

Start point is the trailhead at the Connemara Drive parking area; end is at GGNRA's Milagra Ridge property boundary (the Ridge Trail continues southeast 0.8 mile on Milagra Ridge Road).
