This section of the Lake Hopatcong trail is coaligned with the Highlands Trail. The trail follows along the shore of Bear Pond, heading east toward Mt Brook Creek and Mt Inlet.  The trail cross the Bear Pond Spillway, which is easily crossable most times of the year. At times of high water levels, however, the spillway trail crossing is more challenging and caution should be used.

Activities are limited  to hiking and visitors must remain on the marked trail at all times.
