Bridge is closed until further notice due to recent structural damage to a bridge on the trail.  Hiking access from the East end is open.  Nounou Forest Reserve remains available via the nearby Nounou East and Nounou West Trails.

The trail starts approximately ? mile beyond Opaekaa Falls on Kuamo'o Road (Highway 580) and connects with the Nounou Mt. (West Side) Trail. It is routed laterally along the west side of Nounou Forest Reserve through groves of trees planted in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps.

Mountain Bikers

Always yield to hikers. Do not slide around corners or slide down the trail. Careless mountain biking damages the trail and causes erosion. If accidents are reported or damage to the trail is extreme, the trail may be closed to mountain bikers. This trail is not an easy mountain bike trail.

Hunting may be in progress on or near this hiking trail. Hunting dogs may be off-leash while engaged in the hunt. Hikers must keep their dogs leashed at all times and remove dog waste while on this trail.
