Coyote Peak Trail is a singletrack trail with expansive views of the Ritchey Canyon. You walk through two types of plant communities along this trail: Redwood forest and chaparral. Where Coyote Peak branches off from Redwood Trail, you begin to climb to the ridge.  The initial portion of the trail is shade-covered, gradually becoming chaparral as you move away from the creek. There is a spur that takes you to Coyote Peak where you can get some views of Napa Valley and a panoramic view of Ritchey Canyon.  If you continue toward South Fork Trail you walk along the ridgeline.

When combined with Ritchey Canyon, Redwood and South Fork Trails, Coyote Peak forms a 4 ½ mile loop that climbs out of the canyon offering views of the upper Ritchey Canyon.

To access the Coyote Peak Trail, walk along Redwood Trail for about ¾ miles and turn left where the trails divide.
