The Shawnee Backpack Trail is the longest state-owned backpack trail in Ohio. The loop is shorter and less difficult than the South Loop. It has 3 camps and 3 water tanks and some scenic views. While part of the Backpack Main Trail, this loop can be hiked independently by taking the side trails from Camp 3 to the parking lot at the trailhead on State Route 125. This difficult trail navigates through various timber management projects and past the Simon Kenton Council Camp Oyo Boy Scout Camp.
