A perfect trail for geology lovers, it passes by multiple sandstone outcropping, boulders, and recess caves including Turtlehead Cave, named for the unusual weathering of the sandstone cliffside. It is also the best trail for spring wildflowers, boasting the oldest trees in the park, including a county record for black oak. The trail traverses Sells Park, Athens Nature Preserve, and Strouds Run State Park.
