Ohio’s state forests are managed for multiple uses including sustainable timber production, wildlife habitat, soil and water protection, and recreation. The APV (and snowmobile for Maumee) trails are built and maintained utilizing techniques developed for the use of motorized equipment in forested conditions to create access for fire control and timber management.
