Following along the northern contour of Dow Lake connects Beach Road to the dam. Some sections allow for horses and bicycles, while others do not. Dow Lake is named after Dr. Clarence L. Dow who initiated the project that resulted in Strouds Run State Park. Dow was a professor of geography and geology at Ohio University from 1936 to 1955.
