In Winter, the three mile Almond Lake Trail connects the Lucky Shot Trail south to Vera Lake. It is maintained by the Willow Trail Committee for winter multi-use. The summer portion extends a quarter mile to the peaceful Almond Lake wetlands from the Lucky Shot. From there, a  short, narrow trail to the right will take you to a scenic overlook of the lake. Moose, loons, and cranes are common wildlife sightings.

This trail is part of the Pat Newman Memorial Park Trails, all of which can be accessed by turning west on the Willow Creek Parkway (near mile 71 of the Parks Highway) and traveling approximately 1 mile before turning left on the driveway to the Newman Memorial Park.
