Alameda Drain Trail is part of a larger trail master plan coordinated between the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County. Some phases are still to be constructed in 2025, 2026, and 2027.

The trail was designed in conjunction with AMAFCA, Bernalillo County, and MRGCD.

The trail received funding for design and construction with local, NM State, and Federal funds.
