The Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail is an 60-mile multi-use trail that provides recreationl use within three counties in Ohio. The Towpath Trail travels through metropolitan cities,local villages, regional metroparks and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. In conjunction with the Ralph Regula Towpath Trail in Stark County, Ohio, the Towpath Trail provides an 88-mile corridor for recreational use. The Towpath Trail follows the path of the Ohio & Erie Canal and is part of the designated National Heritage Area. The Towpath Trail serves as the spine within numerous cities and villages providing connections to local trail networks, historic and cultural landmarks and viewing access to the Cuyahoga River. The Towpath Trail is an embodiment of a collaboration of local, regional, federal and non-profit partnerships for programming, management and operations.
