Take a right off of Farrington Highway onto Waianae Valley Road and follow until the very end where there a DOFAW sign and hunter check in station mailbox is located.

HUNTING

The check-in station is a constructed mailbox located within a dirt parking lot, just before the forestry access gate at the end of Waianae Valley Road. The station includes a Hunting Rules and PHA Maps signage. Sign in sheets and pens are provided for this station.

On Oahu, the Waianae Kai Forest Reserve delivers a diverse opportunity for recreational hunting which include two ungulate species (feral pig and goat).

Waianae Kai Forest Reserve is a mountainous area on the West side of Oahu that is normally arid. There are native plant species such as Ohia (Metrosideros polymorpha), Koa (Acacia koa), Naupaka Mauka (Scaevola gaudichaudiana), and A'a'li'i (Dodonaea viscosa). Invasive plant species are present such as haole koa (Leucaena leucocephala).
