Coming from the town of Palmer, this trailhead is on the left side of the highway, just before crossing the Matanuska River bridge. (Coming from the Butte area, it is on the right, just after the bridge.)

From it, one can access the Matanuska Floodplain Trail, the trails in the Matanuska River Park, and the Palmer Bike Path.
