Welcome to East Glenwood Preserve! This preserve was saved from development because of the presence of several endangered species including the emerald green Ohlone Tiger Beetle (Cicindela ohlone). Between January and June, adults can be seen on warm, sunny days. Other times of the year, larvae live in underground burrows. The larvae depend on the presence of bare ground (like trails!) to make their burrows. Keep an eye out for very clean perfectly round openings slightly smaller than a pencil eraser. If you find one, it's time to wait patiently for them to make an appearance.
