Driving Directions:
From Butte, take Interstate 15 north to Helena and exit at Elk Park. Turn right and then left onto Frontage Road paralleling the interstate for approximately four miles, then take a right turn onto Forest Road #1538. Visitors can drive up the road past the gate for another mile, however, the road is not suitable for two wheel vehicles. This would add approximately another mile of walking to the hike.
