Festival Grounds was redesigned as a Sustainable Site in 2012. The area has become one of the largest outdoor venues in New Orleans. This 50-acre land used to be part of the Park's first golf course from the early 1920s to 2005. Before City Park acquired this area, there were plans to build a residential neighborhood, which would have been called the Bellview.
