Cascade of colors draws you along the path. Burst of yellow, spray of purple, hints of red, the guide. Monarch butterflies float to up turned faces of flowers. Glimpse an eagle circling over head. Breathe deep the perfume of flowers, freshness of nearby water and crispness of grass. Exhale and relax to water lapping the shore. Follow sounds of rustling prairie grass. Chorus of buzzing builds to a crescendo. The energy of the prairie surrounds you, a sudden cool breeze rushed past, and your body relaxes. A calm feeling spreads. Tranquility of nature cocoons you. At peace, you are renewed again.

This prairie grows in honor of Donna Dakin, a dedicated employee and friend of Five Rivers MetroParks.
