This trail accesses the west side of the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness. Once on the ridge, views of the Salmon River Valley and Mt Hood are found. The Bureau of Land Management's Wildwood Recreation Site offers a variety of shorter interpretive trails for groups of diverse interest and abilities.

This trail starts at Wildwood Park and ends on a ridge top at the junction with Plaza Trail #783. The trail climbs steadily on a north facing forested slope. In 3.7 miles, the trail gains 2600 feet in elevation.
