Axis was created by Bloomington artist Dale Enochs in 1985 to celebrate the community being named an "All-American City" by the National Civic League. Made from Indiana limestone and inspired by the increasing multiculturalism of our community and country, this sculpture in Miller-Showers Park is a conceptual representation of the gathering of diverse ideas from each of the four cardinal points - North, South, East and West.
