Begin with a little hike up to look down into Portland’s inspiring Japanese gardens. Follow the Wildwood trail through beautiful Washington Park, and loop around to one of the best play structures in Portland, it’s huge! Finish off with a picnic in the Rose Gardens and enjoy a lovely panorama of the city.  

Location: SW Portland

Duration: 2.5 hours to half-day, depending on how long you stay at each waypoint. For an extended Daycation, continue on to The Oregon Zoo, the Children’s Museum, or the World Forestry Center, all located on the other side of Washington Park.

Features: A path through the forest, a HUGE playground, and a walk through Portland’s beautiful International Rose Test Garden.

Potty Break: Restrooms are available at the Rose Garden and at the Rose Garden Children’s Playground.

Parking: Parking is available in the lot along Kingston Drive.
