Carlisle Fort is a cultural treasure built by the people of Hopewell over 2000 years ago. This is a special place where we can see history, connect with a people who lived long ago and enjoy nature! Knowing our history grounds us as we move into the future. Enjoy a hike along the Twin Creek MetroPark green trail and reflect upon the history around us. Our current understanding is that 2000 years ago a rich culture gathered here to raise these ceremonial earthworks. Today we enjoy this land as a park with the changes the Hopewell culture left behind. We wonder what we will leave behind on the land to be found 2000 years from now? What legacy are we leaving for future generations?
