All races meet and end at the Naturalist Cabin at Old Man's Cave, 19852 St. Rt. 664 S in Logan, Ohio.
The NEW 20K (12.5 mile), 40K (25 mile), 60K (37.5 mile) races begin at the Start/Finish Line near the Naturalist cabin. (The 40K course follows the 20K course two times; the 60K follows it three times). The course runs up the paved service road towards the road to the Lodge, then down steps into the woods following the Purple Trail back past the Naturalist Cabin, over the A-Frame Bridge, then left onto the Red Trail until crossing the Campground Road onto established single-track consisting of mostly Bridal Trail, until dropping onto the Red (Cedar Falls) trail. Proceed to, and cross, RT.374 running a short distance until turning left onto the Utility Service Road leading to more single-track trail. At the Fairview Road crossing the course enters the Hocking Hills Organized Youth Camp and follows the gravel road until re-entering the forest at the end of the road onto more single-track trail which empties onto a short road run starting at the intersection of RT.374 and RT.56 until entering The Ash Cave Rim Trail. From the up hill Rim Trail (opposite direction than the hikers) the course proceeds on the Buckeye Trail until joining the 10K Fire Tower out-and-back out to the turn around, and then continuing to the finish on the same trails as the 10K course. Water stops are located at the Utility Service Rd. (off RT.374), Ash Cave Entrance, Cedar Falls, Campground Playground, and the Registration Table/Aid Station. The new course is almost entirely trail with some more technical trails than the old one, and a few shallow water crossings, so be prepared for a little more challenging and much more exciting trail run event!
