Description: The China Hole loop is one of the most popular hikes at the park. The route takes you from a high ridge to a creek bottom with exposed bedrock. China Hole features a year round swimming hole. The route can be done all year, but during times of heavy rain some the route should not be attempted. Conversely when daytime temperatures near 100 degrees F (38 C) heat exhaustion is common. The elevation gain of the hike occurs at the end of the hike. There is no potable water after you leave the Coe Ranch Entrance.
