In the summer of 2022, Friends Board members and volunteers, aided by a few dozen HP employees, cleared out a path for a potential extension of Stevens Creek Trail. This unpaved dirt trail is made possible by the purchase of a small piece of land by one of the Board Members of FoSCT, specifically with intent to give to the City to extend the trail.  It connects Varian Park directly to Stevens Creek Boulevard, across the street from Blackberry Farm and the existing section of Stevens Creek Trail. During the dry summer, this path allowed people to cross using the creek under the bridge over SCB. However, the heavy winter rains and continuing high-flow conditions forced us to look for other options that didn't involve crossing the creek.

To this end an earthen trail has been created, up from the purchased property by Varian Park to the west end of the Stevens Creek Boulevard north side bridge over Stevens Creek. Take a slight jog over to Pharlap for a safe crossing of Stevens Creek Blvd., try this out and let us know what you think.

Accessibility Description

This trail has a narrow, dirt trail on a rather steep cross slope  where it meets Stevens Creek Blvd. so it is not suitable for everyone. Hiking poles are recommended for those that might need additional stability. There are shallow stairs at the northern end and a rather steep driveway.
