• From: Franklin Canyon Road and Alhambra Avenue (or start at John Muir NHS Visitor Center)
• To: Mount Wanda

A short, but unrelentingly upward trip, with an elevation gain of 460 feet, to vast views of Carquinez Strait and surrounding hills from a hilltop often visited by John Muir and his daughters.

Cyclists return the same way; hikers can complete a short loop on the nature trail just north of the main alignment.
