Part of our Wellness on Water (WOW) series, this class includes instruction for beginners on how to paddleboard and, as well as simple shapes commonly found in basic yoga classes that lend themselves to the paddleboard. Yoga shapes will be low to the board and have many points of contact. This class is ideal for someone who wants to learn more about the joys of being on the board on the water. Classes start with a short land lesson reviewing simple safety tips and practical information. The process is broken down into how to get on the board from the dock, how to stand (or not stand), the mechanics of paddling, simple turns, and how to exit the board. As a group we'll paddle to a quiet spot on the lake and explore some basic yoga poses you can incorporate into future paddles, and that complement any paddleboard trip. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle; PFDs are provided.
