Self-Guided Tour (11am-5:30pm) — Explore the trails, stream and exhibits on your own schedule:
- Historical Prairie: Discover the historical uses of prairie plants of Old Chillicothe and envision life upon the banks of the Little Miami.
- Prairie Plants: Discover some unique plants that thrive in Ohio's prairies.
- Patio: Find the historical markers and unique plantings just outside the doors to the Interpretive Center.
- Prairie Wetlands: Investigate prairie and marsh plants that thrive in wetlands.
- Live Animals: Join Naturalists in the barn to see and learn about native reptiles and raptors.
- Little Miami River: Travel down the trail to explore the river with scientists from the ODNR Division of Natural Areas and Preserves and the Little Miami Conservancy.

- The Trading Post at 1:30pm by the Living Stream (if crowd is large, we will direct attendees to a larger space) — Step into history’s bustling crossroads and experience the 18th-Century fur trade! Traverse the vibrant world of trade routes, negotiations, and cultural exchange that defined an era, and embark on a hands-on journey that reveals the intricate threads of global economy and cooperation.
- History of Great Council at 2:30pm and 4pm in the Basement Gallery— Join us for an in-depth discussion on Old Chillicothe and this Shawnee town's brief but bright story. Learn about characters such as Chief Blackfish, Daniel Boone, Simon Kenton, Pompeii, and more as we explore how Old Chillicothe became a point of cooperation and conflict from 1777-1780.
- Pelts to Patterns at 3pm in the Wiikwa/Bark House (if crowd is large, we will direct attendees to a larger space) — Embark on a journey through time with 'From Pelts to Patterns: Clothing of Shawnee People in the 18th Century.' Delve into the fascinating evolution of Shawnee clothing styles, where the exchange of pelts, techniques, and ideas wove a rich tapestry of culture. Explore the profound impact of cross-cultural interactions, as clothing became a bridge connecting societies.
