Description

Join Latino Outdoors Los Angeles and American Hiking Society on a Hike in the San Gabriel Mountains in honor of National Trails Day! This hike is dog-friendly, kid-friendly, with a lot of shade and a waterfall at the end of the hike. We might even have the opportunity to see the loveliness of ladybugs on the PCT Trail!

ITINERARY:

Carpooling is HIGHLY encouraged.

  • 8:30am–9:00am -- Meet at the Chilao Visitor Center
  • Address: Angeles Crest Hwy, La Cañada Flintridge, CA 91011 (From Interstate 210 in the city of La Canada, exit at Angeles Crest Highway (Hwy 2) and drive northeast 26.2 miles.)

OR 

  • 9:15am -- Meet LO @ Burkhart Trailhead to Cooper Canyon Falls
  • Address: Angeles Crest Hwy, Pearblossom, CA 93552 (From Interstate 210 in the city of La Canada, exit at Angeles Crest Highway (Hwy 2) and drive northeast 33.9 miles-- Shortly after you pass the Mount Waterman Ski Area, enter the Buckhorn Campground on your left. Drive through the campground, following the signs for the Burkhart Trail.)

9:15am-11:30am - Hike Burkhart Trail to Cooper Canyon Falls

12:00pm – Return to Burkhart Trailhead/Parking Lot

ADVENTURE PASS PERMIT:

  • Forest Adventure Pass Daily Pass — Costs $5 per day (CASH ONLY @ Trailhead) 
  • Forest Adventure Pass Annual Pass—Costs $30 Annually
