Here in New Hampshire, we are so very fortunate to have such incredible habitat and protected open spaces, right in our own back yards. Often times folks don’t even realize how many amazing outdoor opportunities are right next door, so we wanted to highlight some of our favorite Forest Society gems.
This hike is at our gem of Portsmouth, where the forests meet the tides, Creek Farm Reservation on Little Harbor Road. We have heard so many times, while out walking with our community, that folks had no idea that this beautiful nature preserve was here, and so accessible! On this family-friendly hike led by educator Sarah Kern, we will take an introductory walk along our Little Harbor Loop Trail and check out just a few of the incredible trees, historical landmarks, and if we are lucky, we may see the eagle carrying nesting supplies across the Sagamore.
Be sure to dress appropriately and wear sturdy weatherproof shoes. Bring a camera, some snacks, some water and your sense of adventure.
