Start a new tradition or keep the adventure going with Last Day and First Day Hikes at North Dakota state parks! Whether you venture out for a hike on your own or join a guided hike, it's a great way to kick off the new year!

Dec. 31: Close out 2024 with a Last Day Hike at Cross Ranch State Park. Meet park rangers at the visitor center at 4 p.m. for a guided hike. Afterward, gather around a warm fire and enjoy hot chocolate or apple cider.

Jan. 1: Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park kicks off 2025 with hot drinks at 12:30 p.m. followed by a guided First Day Hike at 1 p.m.

Jan. 1: Looking for an evening experience? Fort Stevenson State Park’s trail will be lit with candle luminaries from 6-7 p.m. as part of their 2025 Evening Hike Series.
