From April 29 to October 31, 2023, the Spokane City Credit Union (SCCU) and Spokane Parks Foundation sponsored the Greater Spokane Parks Challenge, a fun and engaging community building challenge that was free for everyone and encouraged residents and visitors to explore local parks and outdoor activities and win prizes along the way.

And wow did people get out! 422 participants checked into a park or trail 3,289 times, posted hundreds of photos, and explored nearly every park in the region! Participants discovered new parks and trails, visited their old favorites, and connected with their friends and family.

Special thanks to SCCU for hosting this amazing program for the 2nd year in a row. Everyone who participated supported a great cause! SCCU has long supported the Spokane Parks Foundation, a local nonprofit that provides resources for vibrant parks and outdoor recreational programs throughout Spokane County, and this year SCCU made a donation to the Spokane Parks Foundation for each challenge participant!

We look forward to bringing new prizes, new parks and trails to explore, and many new features to the challenge in 2024!
