Round Top Forest Reserve is a 99-acre area in Makiki/Tantalus area. Round Top Forest Reserve was first recognized by Governor Proclamation in the year 1917, by Governor Lucius E. Pinkham. This proclamation was made while Hawai'i was still a territory of the United States.
This small forest reserve can be accessed going up Round Top Drive, and primarily from the many hiking trails that feed the Makiki area. Around the area of this forest reserve is Maunalaha Trail, Moleka Trail, Makiki Valley Trail, and 'Ualaka'a Trail. All of these trails feed into the greater trail system within Makiki Valley.
