Adjacent to Sheriff Meadow’s 150 acre Quansoo Farm and its trails, this property offers views across Tisbury Great Pond and access to the pond’s edge. Quansoo and Quenames are Wampanoag for “the long fish” and reference the location where Wampanoags caught eels during September and October when eels migrate to the ocean.

Directions  From WestTisbury-Chilmark line on South Road; go up-island 0.5 miles. Turn left onto the Quenames Road- just before many mailboxes. Go 0.5 miles and take left fork onto Quansoo Road. In 0.6 miles, at intersection, go straight  and proceed another 0.3 miles.  The first trailhead with parking is on right-  open year-round. A second trailhead, open from October 1 to May 31, is on the left 0.7 miles farther down the Quansoo Road.
