The history of Paint Creek unfolds as local streams powered early mills for grinding grain, processing wool, and sawing wood before being impounded to create a reservoir. Crawford’s Mill, a testament to this era, lies submerged beneath the reservoir’s waters. Follow the trails through diverse habitats, from open meadows with wildflowers in spring and summer to mature woods showcasing vibrantly colored leaves in fall. The lake offers fishing, swimming, and unlimited horsepower boating. Overnight facilities include a campground and cabins.
