Named for the “Middle Line” stonewall that separated Wampanoag and Thomas Mayhew family land, the 47.3-acre property is a memorable, natural experience.  The ridgelines are high — with snatches of views of the Buzzards Bay, beyond Pasque Island — and the boulders here rival Waskosim’s Rock.  The old footpath bisecting the preserve connects to the Holman Road ancient way, which was used to transport raw clay to the north shore brickworks.

Two new trails offer walkers the option to walk parallel to Tabor House Road heading to and from Middle Line Woods Preserve. One trail runs south from the parking area toward Pasture Road, to link up with the MVLB trails at Peaked Hill Reservation. Another trail forks off to the northwest toward North Road.

Directions:  From intersection of North and Tabor House Roads, go south 0.4 miles on Tabor House and turn left onto the Middle Line Road; trailhead is 0.1 miles ahead on the left side of the road.
