A property with great variety.  The cropland , known as Thimble Farm , shimmers in the summer heat. Bracketed against it is a thick cool wetland, whose waters flow into Little Duarte's Pond. Remnants of the former vineyard are evident as low parallel hummocks sheathed in bearberry.  This is the last stretch of grass and water along the Cross-Tisbury trail before it enters the expanse of Greenlands and the State Forest.  

Park at Wapatequa Woods Reservation off Stoney Hill Road and follow signs to trails.
