Experience a nostalgic journey to Ohio’s canal era at Lake Loramie, a historic gem built in 1824 as a reservoir for the Miami & Erie Canal. Once connected to the main canal by a feeder canal, this lake and its scenic surroundings joined the state park system in 1949. Boating remains a popular activity with a section of the lake having a designated speed zone, while the campground offers cozy sites and cabins. Spring and summer offer fishing, swimming, and picnicking, while winter provides opportunities for sledding, ice fishing, and snowmobiling.
