Lake Berryessa, which is managed by the Bureau of Reclamation, is a man-made lake covering nearly 20,000 acres. The Lake provides electricity and drinking water to Solano County and is open for lots of water-based activities including boating, water skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, and fishing. Hiking, biking, and horseback riding are all available on surrounding lands.
There are multiple day use facilities and recreation areas managed by concessionaires under contract with the Bureau. The recreation areas host camping for both tents and RV’s as well as boat launches, picnic areas, some convenience stores, and boat, kayak, paddleboard, and jet ski rentals. The day use areas provide lake access for swimming, shaded picnic areas — including BBQs, and hiking trails along the lake edge. The Lake sits on the eastern border of Napa County and is easy to get to from most of Yolo, Solano, and Napa Counties.
