The Farm Institute is located on the historic Katama Farm, dating back to the early 1900s.  Today it is a working farm and education center with 23 cows, 45 ewes, over 300 laying hens and 50 turkeys.  Katama Farm is owned by the Town of Edgartown and managed by the Trustees of Reservations.

The fields are unique, sandplain grasslands:  an extremely rare habitat that was formed by strong winds, salt spray and poor soil.

If heading towards Katama, take right fork onto Katama Road.  Aero Avenue will be about 1.5 miles up on right.
