Hāmākua Forest Reserve is located on the north side of the island of Hawaiʻi in the district of Hāmākua. The reserve was first designated on December 22, 1928, by Governorʻs Proclamation, and currently consists of approximately 4,355 acres. Hamakua Forest Reserve is currently composed of seven separate sections.
