GRAND OPENING JUNE 7, 2024

Embark on a journey into the heart of history at Great Council, where a 12,000 square-foot museum/interpretive center stands on 15 acres of a Shawnee town site, dating back to 1777-1780. Immerse yourself in photo galleries capturing modern Shawnee life, explore ancient cultures of Hopewell and Fort Ancient, and engage with interactive exhibits, including a life-size Shawnee house and a 25-foot living stream. Overlook what was the village from the museum’s balcony or follow the scenic ½ mile Blackfish Trail connecting past and present.
