This property contains large sections of the Baycrest Ski Trail system. Look for trail expansion in the future. This property was originally acquired by the Kachemak Heritage Land Trust with a Forest Legacy Grant and private donations; the City has accepted title and designated it for a public purpose as park land. The Kachemak Nordic Ski Club maintains the winter trails in wonderful fashion, but the wetland conditions in some areas make summer recreation a little more difficult. The City of Homer has adopted acomprehensive management plan for the Diamond Creek Recreation Area which will guide development through the years.
